Weekend in London

It's been a busy weekend... On Friday morning, Shihan Helen Beattie and I flew to London with easyJet to attend a British & European Kilohana Association (BEKA) Martial Arts seminar the following day. We went to the Abba musical: Mamma Mia! in London's West End on the Friday afternoon which we thoroughly enjoyed! In the evening we watched Shihan Stephen Nicholls teach a JuJitsu class at his dojo in Marylebone. Attending the class were our students: Sensei Robert Yorston, Rebecca Yorston, and Robert Yorston Jnr, who had a good workout - well done you guys! After the class, we all went for a meal at a Spanish restaurant.

The following day, Shihan Beattie and I visited The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, The London Eye, Tower Bridge, and did some shopping on Oxford, Regent, and Carnaby Street. Later in the day we taught a selection of Yoshin Kempo syllabus techniques at the seminar in Shihan Nicholl's dojo. Also teaching at the event was a Boxing Champion/Coach: Mr Chohwora Udu, who taught very interesting drills.

After the seminar, Shihan Nicholls, Mr Steve Cooper (BEKA Director), and I, met at a bar for a BEKA Standards Board meeting to discuss plans for the Scottish Kilohana Gathering at Aviemore in April. After the meeting we met with the seminar attendees (including Sensei Yorston and his children) to dine at a Chinese restaurant. We enjoyed our weekend in the City of Westminster area of London and thank Shihan Nicholls and his students for their hospitality. We look forward to visiting London again.
