Sensei Colin!

Congratulations go to Mr. Colin Robertson, whom I promoted to Sensei (instructor) at the Inverness Kempo School this evening! Sensei Robertson is Sensei David Robertson's brother - both guys are great young Martial Artists and are a fantastic asset to the Scottish Kempo Academy!

Shihan Helen Beattie and I are proud to see the 2nd Dan brothers grow from young boys to men in our Budo circle.

Departure Message

As I depart to begin a new chapter in my life I would like to say a big thank you to all students of the SKA, their very supportive parents and especially my teachers - I will miss you all. However, to borrow a phrase - I'll Be Back!

Main Instructor

I have every confidence that Sensei Kevin Blyth (pictured right), 1st Dan Kempo, will take the Kempo dojo at Dingwall Leisure Centre from strength-to-strength as the new main instructor! He will be ably assisted by Sempai Anna Bell-Higgs, Sempai Shaun Bell-Higgs and Sempai Katrina Moir.

Over the years Sensei has been working closely with Shihan Alan Milne learning teaching and Budo skills and is due to sit his 2nd Dan exam in December. Sensei's children: Taylor and MacKenzie, also train at the dojo.

Two Decades+

It's sad when someone you've trained for over twenty years to Master level leaves your Martial Arts group on a regular basis, but I'm happy for Shihan Alan Milne, 5th Dan Kempo, as he moves to the next stage in his work-career. Shihan has big plans for the future and I look forward to following his progress, especially in the Martial Arts world!

Shihan Alan Milne & Shihan Helen Beattie

Shihan Helen Beattie, 6th Dan, and I enjoyed being at the Kempo dojo in Dingwall this evening to bid a fond farewell to Shihan Alan Milne who stood-down as the main instructor due to work commitments outwith the Highlands.

It was great that Sensei Cameron Scott made it along to the dojo! A few gifts were presented to Shihan who will be missed, and we look forward to seeing him at the SKA if time permits.

New Sempai!

Congratulations to Mrs. Katrina Moir whom I promoted to Sempai (Assistant Instructor) at the Dingwall Kempo School this evening! Sempai Moir's children: Gavin and Liam also attend our Kempo classes in the capital town of Ross-shire.

Dingwall Academy

Sensei David Robertson (pictured front right) received a warm welcome from members of the Yoshin Kempo dojo at Dingwall Academy this evening. It was also nice to welcome a new adult and child along for an introductory lesson.

Sensei's partner: Samantha, (who lives in Aviemore) also came along a visit. Shihan Helen Beattie and I enjoyed our time with everyone at the dojo and we look forward to seeing the class going from strength-to-strength with Sensei Robertson in charge!
